Jackie Chan is a victim of a death hoax. According to a CNN report, that has caught fire on Twitter and other social media, the actor died of a heart attack at an LA hospital. The report however, turns out to be a sick prank by the owner of the blog called Skiphopz .

Had this at Al Porto Pizzeria during a visit to Lake Garda in Italy. Thin crust with a thin layer of tomato sauce, topped with prosciutto di parma, parmigiano reggiano and rucola (rocket or arugula are the more common names). Notice how they're not scrimping on the toppings unlike most of our pizza places here.

Shu Uemura Mascara Length and Waterproof Review

The verdict: I absolutely love it!

It really doesn't disappoint and, true to its name, visibly lengthens my lashes. The brush of the applicator isn't much wider than the wand making it very easy to use especially if you have small, Chinita eyes like mine. There's also little to no flaking and clumping unlike the other brands I've tried.

Before buying the product, my friend assured me that it is waterproof. She went on to tell me that she even wore the mascara while swimming and yet, her eyes remained smudge-free. I wanted to find out if what she said had any truth in it so I decided to test it myself. I put on some mascara before taking a shower and lo and behold, it really didn't smudge.

I normally apply one coat for everyday use. You may also apply 3-4 coats for a more dramatic effect. Best to use the Shu eyelash curler before applying the mascara.

My Mid-year Wish List: MacBook

I think it's about time that I buy a new computer. My trusty little netbook, which I bought mid-2009, has been making whirring sounds for the past week and I'm scared that one day, it'll finally refuse to boot up. The noise usually happens on startup and continues for several minutes, stops, then starts again. I guess the fan is about to go kaput. That or I'd just abused it by playing Farmville, Frontierville, Market Street and Mafia Wars way too much. Prior to buying my netbook, I read somewhere that life expectancy for this thing is around a year or two. So I guess it's time to buy something new.

It's a good way for me to start being Mac-savvy as I've been a PC user all my life. I don't know how long I'd have to wait to buy one though. MacRumors  recommends holding off on buying it since updates are due soon. Price on the Apple Philippines store for a 2.4GHz  Macbook right now is at P51,990.

Cut-out swimsuits are IN!

Apparently, cut out swimwear is now the trend. It's perfect for those who want to conceal a less-than-perfect middle or those who want to stand out among others who don the more traditional two-piece. Sure, a lot of the designs are lovely and eye-catching but one must wonder how funky the tan lines would look after taking these suits off.

These are a couple of pieces I saw on the Victoria Secret Swimwear page. I think they're absolutely lovely, especially the gold-trimmed one, however, I don't think I can wear it unless I only plan on parading on the beach and not really doing some serious sunbathing.

A Night of Music..and Drama

Watched the preview of Atlantis Production's "Next to Normal" last night at the RCBC theater.  I found it okay considering that I'm not really into musicals. The actors' singing and overall performances were much better compared to another production company's shows that I've seen recently. The story, well, there were funny parts during the first half, however, the second half was way too gloomy for me. A lot of drama and crying. That's just my opinion though. To each his own, right? What I found amazing was how the lead actress was able to sing while crying. Holding back all that snot while singing is no mean feat I think.

Anyway, for those who don't know what the story is about, here is an excerpt from Next to Normal's Wikipedia page:

"Its story concerns a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effect that her illness has on her family. The musical also addresses such issues as grieving a loss, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and suburban life."

Went to an event last week and was fortunate enough to have had one of the Shu Uemura Rockwell artists do my makeup. I really liked the lipstick she used on me so I decided to go back a few days later and purchase it.

I was quite content with the Clinique I've been using but I must say that this one is much nicer. Very smooth application, has a lovely shine that's not too glossy, feels light and does not dry my lips. It is a bit pricey at P1,350 but then I always believe that one should not scrimp when it comes to makeup.
